Great writing - and I really identify with this as someone raised by highly driven, tidy engineers who feels a constant hum of guilt that I often let chaos ride in my home/yard
Great reflection here. Love the metaphor between the garden and the soul; both require mindfulness and purposeful tending. I believe this also. The sacredness of your garden blossoms in color and our soul is at its best when we delve into our imagination. Thank you for this.
So very relatable!! On the pro-wild side: Today I discovered an elderberry bush growing that the wildlife planted! I’m so excited! On the con side of embracing the wild: we are in a losing battle with the invasive honeysuckle. It’s a delicate balancing act … and when life finds me with less capacity for keeping up…it can feel so very overwhelming. But the birds and pollinators make up for it!

I love it! I have a similar philosophy when it comes to my own garden.
Is there any weed that’s not useful for someone?? :-D

The balance is so hard!!!
Love this! I tend to lean to the wild side when it comes to landscaping. Occasionally I lean too far. There is beauty in the chaos.
