Lovely! Not sure the exact climate of the PNW, but out here in Pennsylvania the weather is totally bipolar this time of year- "It was nice to try on May for a Monday, but Tuesday I think we'll go back to the Ice Age." At least the mosquitos haven't woken up yet!

Love this! Spring has that sense of rebirth and renewal that's so ethereal. You captured this well in your poem! Great writing!

Given that we’re having the inevitable winter relapse after just such a spring teaser, I’m nodding my head and smiling. This, exactly this. 😎

"that animal panic still lives inside us, curled up and quiet." So much resonance with this. I've lived an agrarian lifestyle up until very recently, but still, I FEEL this deep inside me every winter, and at the onset of every spring. 'Round about the first of February, I start to feel the anxiousness creeping up -- what if spring doesn't come when expected? It leaves me weary. Those first sun-filled, beautiful days are indeed a breath of fresh air in more ways than one.

So well-put.

It's a big thing here to get your laundry out on the line when the weather allows. Today was the first day of the season. I'm really, really happy about the change of season too.
