I’ve taken a few of my dogs to obedience class. I get the concept of routine and setting good boundaries but there’s a part of me that loves chaos.
This was beautiful S. E. My dog Miso is part poodle and you described that particular strain of brain perfectly. Of course Miso is a good boy too, but he definitely has his own ideas. Being an ultramarathoner nature is my sanctuary, home of thin places. Your reminder of self grace is so needed. Thank you for affirming that.
Too relatable, S.E. We have a couple of dogs and they're much better at routines--yoga, not so much! There must be a reason for this routine God is trying to implement! 🙄
Yes, I can relate. My dog is gone now, but he couldn't figure out yoga or any kind of floor exercise. And my brain is always looking for something new.
Wonderfully relatable, probably by more of us than you would imagine! Shiny things indeed... And my late wife had experiences much like yours with Finn, but with a couple of our cat family when she was down on the floor stretching, trying their best to understand what she was doing.

Magpie Mind! Brilliant, much kinder & fancier than the usual phrases I hurl at my frustrating brain. Thank you for sharing your gift with words!
On the flip side, your magpie mind is what keeps you creating!
Lovely. I’m so happy when I see women pursuing God with grace for themselves.
