Welcome to The Wildroot Parables weekly discussions! This is where we can come together as a community and have real talk with one another: open, honest, gracious, and curious.
This is YOUR space to discuss with each other, not just engage with me! Because of this, SAFE SHARING is my highest priority. If you are not engaging safely and with grace with others, you will have to leave. Period.
Thank you for entering this space with care!
On Monday, our devotional was about a common autumnal creature: the spider! Always a divisive topic, as there are those who love spiders and those who find them just too creepy to deal with.
This week, let’s expand outward and consider the balance between spooky and sacred. Can you think of something you used to be afraid of, or you used to find distasteful, that now you enjoy, appreciate, or are even grateful for? What is your relationship with things that scare you, and do you think fear can ever be a sacred tool?
Bees! Due to an unpleasant experience as a small child, (& cultural influence) I was quite terrified of them for a long time. As I’ve gotten older and deepened my appreciation of Nature, I now find bees beautiful and fascinating. It’s a sacred moment to slow down to watch them work. Because of bees we have food! We are intimately & intricately connected to bees and while our culture often teaches us to be scared of them, they are actually sacred beauties. 🐝
