Welcome to The Wildroot Parables weekly discussions! This is where we can come together as a community and have real talk with one another: open, honest, gracious, and curious.
This is YOUR space to discuss with each other, not just engage with me! Because of this, SAFE SHARING is my highest priority. If you are not engaging safely and with grace with others, you will have to leave. Period.
Thank you for entering this space with care!
On Monday, I shared some of my raw thoughts about the issues I have with the way we tell and retell the Easter story, and some of the ways we shortchange ourselves as we live in light of the Resurrection, a mysterious and powerful event.
Today, our question is: what is your relationship with mystery? Do you find it easy to relate to and accept, or quite difficult? And how do you find mystery acting as a force in your daily life?
In some ways, I find mystery comforting. I can never know everything so I, a perfectionist, have the freedom not to try; it’s ok for me to be small in the face of mystery. It’s also inspiring. Without having to know everything, I can seek something, passionately, creatively.
My relationship with mystery has been friendlier nowadays. Before, it was such a cruel enemy... anything unfamiliar and open was strange to me. Now it's safer since I've established mindful practices. Sometimes feeling safe was quite difficult. Now, mystery holds my hand and takes me to meadows! Uncomfortable and oddly thrilling.
Mystery is comforting and exciting for me. I need it or life feels very stale. It lets me feel how connected everything really is and how little we know.
