Welcome to The Wildroot Parables weekly discussions! This is where we can come together as a community and have real talk with one another: open, honest, gracious, and curious.
This is YOUR space to discuss with each other, not just engage with me! Because of this, SAFE SHARING is my highest priority. If you are not engaging safely and with grace with others, you will have to leave. Period.
Thank you for entering this space with care!
Hello all, and happy Wednesday! Today’s discussion is going to be a little bit different…
Thanks to an influx of new subscribers from Substack’s new Notes feature (hi, everyone!) I’m planning to post a little overview of my faith journey tomorrow, especially how I came to Celtic Christianity. It’s something I’ve been asked to share but haven’t had a good opportunity, so now is the time!
Do you have any questions you would like me to answer about my faith journey or Celtic Christianity in a post like that? I’ll try to cover as much as I can without writing a novel, so let me know what you’re curious about!
Fantastic! Yes, I would like to know what Celtic Christianity is in general and how you became a Celtic Christian. Also, how is it expressed in your daily life? Thank you for offering!
I had heard of but had to look up spiritual practices of Celtic Christians, in general. I found I am drawn to many of these practices unknowingly. We welcome the unpackaging of what is meaningful to you!
As far as I am aware of British church history, one of the main gripes between Celtic and Roman Catholic Christianity was the timing of Passover/Easter. The Roman Catholics demanded the Celts to change their date. So the big question for me: when do you celebrate Easter? (I have no horse in this race - I care not when anyone celebrates, or does not celebrate, Holy Week).
Fascinating substack. I love your emphasis on gardening, something I found myself wandering into myself as I found my faith stripped bare of the superfluous during our recent totalitarian purge.
"Give us this day our daily bread."
Well, bread is made from grain, and grain grows wild outside in the fields... so I guess I better be out there harvesting it ay?
