Welcome to The Wildroot Parables weekly discussions! This is where we can come together as a community and have real talk with one another: open, honest, gracious, and curious.
This is YOUR space to discuss with each other, not just engage with me! Because of this, SAFE SHARING is my highest priority. If you are not engaging safely and with grace with others, you will have to leave. Period.
Thank you for entering this space with care!
On Monday we learned how the ancients used yew and willow instead of palms for their Palm Sunday observances; they knew what God wanted was their attention and devotion, not their perfection.
So this week, we’re asking: What imperfections are you laying at God’s feet, trusting that He will make them holy?
Easter itself! It was my mom’s favorite holiday. It’s been 5 Easters since she died, and I still haven’t quite found an Easter groove. Plus many other life transitions ... and Easter just feels very strange and imperfect. But that’s okay! God’s not looking for the perfect holiday celebration. He’s just looking for my attention & devotion. Not perfection. Thank you for this 💛
Beautifully said, Megan! Experiencing holidays and special seasons changing over time can be such a complicated thing. I really appreciate you sharing, and I'm praying that you have a truly blessed Easter. 🌿
Sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom Megan. But thank you for the reminder that being imperfect is ok. I can always “up” my devotion. Perfection is up to Him.
