The frog songs seem early in our neck of the woods this year...have you noticed?
And don't apologize; your 'over-spiritualizing' is simply evidence that yes, all Creation does speak... I love the reawakening that's happening--it reminds me of God's faithfulness.
I’m used to virginia winter that lasts until april. Here in south carolina, I know by the end of february my car will be covered in pollen. Doesnt feel like it yet, but itll happen before im ready. I still havent found a good car wash spot…
The only other indicator of the waxing days and warming weather is the stray cats have been noisier. So far, anyway. Ill keep on the lookout for frogs!
I apologize in advance for highjacking this comment off topic. I can't miss this opportunity, since you mentioned the nosiness of stray cats, to shout out for TNR programs (Trap, Neuter and Return) for controlling feral cat populations. What you hear precedes the spring boom in feral kitten litters. Overcrowding in shelters leads to mass euthanasia or inhumane disposal of unwanted kittens by individuals. TNR by willing volunteers provides a humane path to stopping the uncontrollable growth of feral cat colonies. If you have the interest and time to get involved, check in your neighborhood for groups already supporting TNR and volunteer or donate to this humane effort. Your neighbors and the local shelters will thank you. Thank you for reading.
I'm a big fan of over-spiritualizing. In my world, pretty muchly everything has some connection to spirit or the divine. Especially nature. Can you ever over-spiritualize nature? The Pacific tree frog is incredible and thank you for naming this wonderful little singer! I was in Half Moon Bay last week and drove out to my favorite beach to watch the full moon rise. It was a little past dark and I was driving down this long road that leads out to the cliffs when I heard this almost siren like sound. I rolled down my windows and...FROGS! There must have been hundreds. The private land where someone keeps horses had been turned into a pond by all the rain (I'd seen ducks swimming there earlier that day) and the frogs were singing their little souls out. ❤
We’ve got daffodils just starting to bloom which is one our early signs of spring here in Georgia! Tiny bursts of sunlight as the forerunner, letting us know the true light is near.
I went to a choir concert yesterday. It was glorious, but still doesn’t really compare to the tree frogs. Thanks for your image. ‘They know in their strange, flexible little bones…’ Sing to the Lord, sing all the earth!

Thank you for this, Sally.

Wonderful to read and ponder

Beautiful words Sally. “Despite the evidence, still I will sing” just what I needed to read today 💛
Best hymn of all : “…despite the evidence, still I will sing…” 🙌
A beautiful small hymn. Thankyou. And also to the frog choir (I will look them up and listen)

Yaaa froggies themselves are a message from the Creator.
Some not quite accurate AI imagery :-D accompanies our very own spring peepers from 2023. https://rumble.com/v2bdo7w-frogs-of-weedom.html
Waiting to hear them this year. They're near the end of the Feb.
Yes! To be a Little One again!
This is beautiful!
Those frogs don't lie, sing!

I don't think we can over spiritualize. This is so wonderful. I love the contemplative nature of your poetry. Thank you!
This was beautiful! Very wise and so poetically put ❤️
