Bravo! I shall never look at Hypericum perforatum with scorn again. Yesterday, I pulled some from my garden bed and tossed it into the compost. Today I shall harvest the same and gather it under my left arm with my heart beating happily.

Thanks for reposting this for us newer readers. So cool to learn the reason for St. John's wort's name and its Celtic history.

Very interesting story. John the Baptist is one of my favorite biblical figures.

When I finish this, it will be June 24th; thank you for giving Saturday meaning.

Nearly all of my days are identical, now that my wife is on Summer Break; and since she's having surgery on Tuesday, we have been temporarily banned from visiting our germ-ridden grands and parents. Being a Recluse by nature, I don't mind not leaving the house.

A few minutes ago I was listening to Bob Dylan's 'The Times They Are a Changin'.

I find myself asking, are the times really changing? It *feels* like they are going backward. I was in college in the 70's, with a high Draft number. My parents' 'church' was the American Legion. Protesting would not have been safe.

Five assassinated Civil Rights Advocates in 5 years, in the 60s; Jim Crow throughout the South. Congress booted Nixon so they could arrest Agnew; leading to Ford. An Endless War.

We are in Great Need of Grace.

Another feature of this plant is that it helps minor depression. I think that there is some symbolism there. Thank you for posting! I always learn new things here.
