Welcome to The Wildroot Parables weekly discussions! This is where we can come together as a community and have real talk with one another: open, honest, gracious, and curious.
This is YOUR space to discuss with each other, not just engage with me! Because of this, SAFE SHARING is my highest priority. If you are not engaging safely and with grace with others, you will have to leave. Period.
Thank you for entering this space with care!
On Monday, our meditation was all about my own inability to hang a favorite piece of art on my wall—no spot seemed just right for it!
Today, let’s discuss: what is one thing in your life that perfectionism—the fear of messing up—is keeping you from? In other words, if you didn’t have to worry about the perfect wallspace, would you hang your favorite painting without a second thought?
Perfectionism keeps me from writing sometimes. Perfectionism also prevents me from trying things. I write a script in my head for how things should go and if things deviate (they always deviate) it can be scary.
Sometimes the tasks I have on my plate can feel overwhelming and perfectionism wants to get everything done in some specific order and in a specific way. Sometimes it's better to do *something* even if it's not perfect and even if it's not complete. Can't eat an elephant without taking a bite at some point.

Thank you for this reflection!
